NOTE: PhotoScape has two versions – PhotoScape 3.7 and PhotoScape X. The first one is for Windows XP, 7, Vista, 8 and 10 users, while the latter is only available for Windows 10 and Macs with MacOS 10.10 or higher.

12 Photoscape X Tips and Tricks

1. Customize Layout

On the Editor screen, all tools and effects open on the right side. However, some of them do not occupy a fixed position. They can be moved and maintained at your location according to your preference. In other words, you can unlock the tools.

To do this, click the pin icon (Undock Option) in the upper right corner. Similarly, if you want to dock them, click the same button when in the uncoupled position.

Each tool icon will have a name beneath it. This makes it easier to use other image editing sets to remember which shortcuts. Just move your mouse over the icons to find out what the tools are.

2. Save area

PhotoScape X offers the option of saving a cropped area directly and thus saves your time. In addition, you can also copy the cut part directly to the clipboard.

3. Change background in Cut Circle

In the Cut Circle option, PhotoScape X lets you choose the background for all four corners, from solid color, gradient, and themes. To do this, check the Cut Circle box under the Cut function. Then choose the background of your choice from the options provided.

4. Cut Circle with transparent background

As in the previous step, where PhotoScape X allows you to choose a solid background, instead of choosing a color or theme, you can set it to transparent.

To do this, go to Edit> Transformations> Text Mask and select the fourth option under the Background Transparency label, and set a transparent background to a text layer mask

5. Duplicate Objects

PhotoScape X lets you add stickers, pictures, pictures, and text to your photos. Sometimes you may want to add the same object twice or more. To do this, you do not need to click the menu repeatedly to add them, just use the duplicate feature.

After you add an object, click Insert, choose the icon you want, and then click Duplicate in the same window. You can use it as many times as you want.

6. Working with layers

When you add more than one object to your image, you get the Layer option on the left side of the screen. You can edit each layer individually by unchecking the checkbox next to it. Later, selecting all of the checkboxes will combine these layers to show the final image.

7. Quick Menu

On the Edit tab, you'll find many editing options arranged in different sections. Because PhotoScape X has a lot of features, it is difficult to access some of them directly from the initial window.

Fortunately, the Quick Menu comes to solve this, where you have access to many features directly in a window. To use it, go to the Edit tab, and then tap the Quick Menu icon.

8. Original View

Similar to leading photo editors, you can save your images as projects. Later, when you need to make changes, open the project file and continue editing it.

To save an image as a project, click the Save button. Then click Save Project. Of course, you can also use the Alt + Shift + S keyboard shortcut.

10. Rename files in batches

Another interesting feature that PhotoScape X provides is a batch renaming of files. Simply add Tools> Rename files and set preferred naming options.
